ANR Robinson International Airport
Expansion Project

Project Name:
ANR Robinson International Airport Expansion
Location: Crown Point, Tobago
Project Type: Aviation & Heavy Civil Infrastructure
Completion Date: March 2025
Key Capabilities: On-Site Concrete Batching, Base Stabilization (CTB), Mass Earthworks, Material Processing, Cart-away of unsuitable material.
Project Overview
For the landmark ANR Robinson International Airport Expansion, FM Contracting delivered a comprehensive, self-performing suite of heavy civil engineering, material manufacturing, and logistical solutions. Our operations supported critical site transformation and foundational works required to expand the airport’s footprint, ensuring all strict aviation engineering specifications were met with real-time quality control.
Scope of Works Delivered
Aviation Pavement & Base Stabilization (CTB): Contracted to mix, lay, and compact the Cement Treated Sub-Base & Base Course for the heavy-duty airport apron. Utilizing specialized asphalt spreaders, our team achieved precise uniform thickness and alignment, followed by immediate compaction using heavy rollers to meet strict airport-grade structural density and smoothness.
On-Site Concrete Manufacturing: Deployed and operated a high-capacity 60 m3/hr Wet Mix Concrete Batching Plant directly on-site. This strategic setup minimized dependency on external deliveries, drastically reduced transportation costs, eliminated logistical delays, and allowed for real-time mix design adjustments to guarantee structural consistency.
Advanced Quarrying & Material Processing: Managed the controlled fragmentation of large-scale coral stone utilizing high-impact hydraulic hammers. The fragmented material was subsequently processed using our mobile jaw crusher to reduce the stone to exact engineering project specifications.
Mass Earthworks & Fleet Logistics: Executed the mass excavation and off-site haulage of unsuitable subgrade materials. Operations were seamlessly supported by our versatile fleet of 20-ton excavators and a dedicated fleet of heavy dump trucks, ensuring continuous, high-efficiency workflow across multiple project zones.
